How to Get Started?

Follow the following steps to be prepared for your program.


  1. Review the Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) New Student Checklist and complete the steps before the start of the program.
  2. Register for courses through MyAccess.
  3. Attend the mandatory BGE and Department Orientations (more details to come).
  4. If you are an international graduate student, there is a two-day program of information sessions and social events for you! For the Office of Global Services (OGS) Orientation for New International Students, please visit them at the OGS Orientation Website.

Mandatory BGE Orientation

The Biomedical Orientation is mandatory for all incoming Biomedical PhD students.

Mandatory Department Orientation

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology Orientation is mandatory for all new students. More details to come.

Mandatory International Student Orientation

If you are an international graduate student, there is a two-day program of information sessions and social events for you! Although students are encouraged to attend the entire orientation, all students in F-1 and J-1 status are required to attend the Immigration Compliance and US Culture and Academic Integrity sessions.
