Dr. Cote has been with Georgetown University since 1978. He was active as research faculty in the department since 1987 under Dr. John L. Gerin while his project was centered in Rockville, MD until 2006. Since then he relocated to the Georgetown University Medical Center Campus where he has continued his research work in hepatitis B. Most recently, since 2010, he was awarded a 3-year NIH contract, entitled the “Woodchuck animal model for testing hepatitis B virus therapeutics”, which involves continuing extensive collaboration with his long-time colleague and project Co-PI, Dr. Stephan Menne, who is now a Research Associate Professor in this department since 2010 (see publication listing). Dr. Cote also collaborates with Co-PI, Dr. Jan Gnadt of the Georgetown RRF/DCM to conduct studies in the NIH woodchuck animal model.
