Dr Collmann's research focuses on understanding the effect of bureaucracy and other complex forms of organization on everyday life. His current research includes applying theories about organizational failure and reliability to the understanding and enhancement of protecting sensitive but unclassified information in computerized information management systems such as computerized healthcare and biosurveillance systems.

Dr. Jeff Collmann is an Adjunct Professor of Microbiology & Immunology at Georgetown University Medical Center. He is also an Associate Research Professor at the department of Sociology & Anthropology and Information Assurance Research Scientist & Associate Professor at the Biodefense Division of the ISIS Center at Georgetown University.
