Dr. Dongmei Li

Dr. Dongmei Li is Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology & Immunology

Summary:

  • Ph.D, Medical Microbiology, 1995
  • At Georgetown Since: 2000
  • Lab capacity for new students?: No
  • Contact: dl33@georgetown.edu

Research Interest:

Dr. Li's professional expertise is mainly in the fields of clinical mycology and molecular mycology. She has more than ten years of experience working in the clinical mycology field, such as diagnosis of patient as a clinician and identification of pathogenic fungi in the clinical microbiologic lab as a mycologist. Since 1998, Dr. Li has been working in molecular biology lab, studying pathogenesis of medical fungi.

Her primary research focus is on pathogenesis of a medically important pathogen, Candida. She has also been evaluating the role of two-component histidine kinase and regulator signal protein, CHK1, SSK1 in pathogenesis of candidiasis by their mutants morphogenesis and animal virulent in vivo.
